What are Quaranoids™?

The humanoids that have emerged from the shadow of quarantine times.

What is the project about?

The tension of these times, coupled with quarantine, is making us all feel a range of emotions that are being expressed in lots of different ways. I wanted to document this and hopefully help in some small way. Some of us may feel isolated, sad or stressed but we are all living this experience. The hope is that when people see themselves or others in one of the Quaranoid™ characters they can relate, in some cases laugh and share.

It’s been fun and therapeutic to write these characters and see them brought to life so beautifully by artists from around the world. The illustrators represent over twenty countries on all continents, except Antarctica. I hope the participation of so many varied artists in such different parts of the globe is proof that ultimately we aren’t that different. We are all just humanoids doing whatever we can to keep it together, with a shared value for toilet paper.

How does it work?

I write them and incredibly talented illustrators bring them to life - not always in that order. I can’t thank the global illustration community enough for their time, talent and collaboration. I’ll keep adding new Quaranoids™ as long as people get something out of them.
